Retreatment of root canals
In our many years of practice, we often encounter cases where the only way to save a tooth is through root canal treatment.
If a tooth was treated endodontically several years ago and problems have since reappeared, retreatment becomes necessary. To ensure the highest quality and precision, we perform this procedure using the top-class Zeiss OPMI microscope.
The procedure involves removing the old filling material from the canals (root canal retreatment) and replacing it with a modern, airtight, high-quality material.
Every root canal procedure in our clinic is performed under magnification. The use of a microscope during retreatment helps us locate all canals, remove previous fillings, retrieve broken instruments, and treat obliterated (narrowed or calcified) canals with complex anatomy.
The protocols, advanced equipment, and materials we use enable proper cleaning and disinfection of the tooth interior, giving patients the best chance of preserving their natural tooth for many years.
It is important to remember that, as with any treatment, a 100% success rate cannot be guaranteed. However, with modern techniques, the chances of successful retreatment are significantly improved, offering the tooth the opportunity to remain healthy for many years.
