Prophylaxis
In our relationship with patients, we care about their well-being, safety, and a healthy smile. That’s why — following the principle that prevention is better than treatment — we place great emphasis on oral and dental prophylaxis.
Regular check-up visits at the dental office, combined with professional preventive procedures, make it possible to maintain healthy natural teeth — and therefore a beautiful smile — long into old age.
Systematic preventive treatments play a crucial role in preventing tooth decay, periodontal disease, and other oral conditions. Thanks to thorough diagnostics, we can detect abnormalities at an early stage, reducing the risk of disease progression.
We invite and remind our patients to schedule preventive visits at least once a year, during which we examine the teeth and oral cavity. Proper prophylaxis helps eliminate bad breath, reduces discoloration (from smoking, coffee, tea, etc.), and ensures a feeling of freshness and oral health.
As part of dental prophylaxis, we offer the following treatments:
-
scaling — removal of tartar
-
curettage
-
treatment of tooth sensitivity
-
deep cleaning of teeth
-
removal of stains — air-polishing (sandblasting)
-
fluoride treatment — varnishing of teeth
-
sealants
-
education on proper oral hygiene
The procedures performed during preventive visits also help stop the development of bacteria responsible for tartar formation and prevent periodontitis. Dental plaque (which later hardens into tartar) contains numerous bacteria responsible for bad breath, and poor hygiene accelerates its formation. Because tartar forms from minerals in saliva and its rate of formation varies among individuals, it should be professionally removed before it leads to infection.
The time dedicated to preventive visits in our practice allows our patients to enjoy a beautiful smile and excellent well-being.
