Information on the impact of the activities carried out by the organizational unit on human health and the environment
Legal basis: Atomic Law Act / Journal of Laws 2021, item 1941 / pursuant to Article 32c, point 2
The unit operates the following devices generating ionizing radiation:
Dental X-ray Room No. 1 is equipped with:
-
RX DC by Cefla – for intraoral (point) radiographs
Serial number: 706G1574
Decision No. 394/2022 dated 05/09/2022 -
CS 8200 3D by Carestream – for panoramic/cephalometric imaging with CBCT option
Serial number: KDIL052
Decision No. 395/2022 dated 05/09/2022
Dental X-ray Room No. 2 is equipped with:
-
RX DC by Cefla – intraoral X-ray unit
Serial number: 70633233
Decision No. 397/2022 dated 05/09/2022
The unit holds permits for the operation of the following diagnostic rooms:
-
Dental X-ray Room No. 1 – Decision No. 393/2022 dated 05/09/2022
-
Dental X-ray Room No. 2 – Decision No. 396/2022 dated 05/09/2022
Before commissioning the diagnostic rooms, the unit carried out measurements of the X-ray dose distribution around each device. Based on the results, it was determined that the annual dose limit for ionizing radiation does not exceed:
-
1 mSv/year for publicly accessible rooms,
-
3 mSv/year for rooms of the X-ray facility outside the treatment room.
The unit is supervised by the Silesian Provincial Sanitary Inspector in Katowice
(40-957 Katowice, ul. Raciborska 39 – Radiation Hygiene Department).
In accordance with:
-
the Regulation of the Council of Ministers of 30 November 2020 on protection against ionizing radiation for external workers performing work in controlled or supervised areas (Journal of Laws 2020, item 2313), and
-
the Regulation of the Council of Ministers of 30 November 2020 amending the regulation on specific conditions for safe work with sources of ionizing radiation (Journal of Laws 2020, item 2300),
the Dental X-ray Rooms of this unit are classified as supervised areas.
The unit monitors occupational exposure of employees through individual dosimetry performed by the Occupational Exposure Assessment Laboratory, Radiation Protection Department, Nofer Institute of Occupational Medicine:

Tel/Fax: +48 42 631 45 39
Email: dozymetria@imp.lodz.pl
Facility ID No.: 13662
The measured effective dose was below 6 mSv, and the personnel were classified under radiation exposure category B.
According to the Regulation of the Council of Ministers on dose limits of ionizing radiation (Journal of Laws 2005, item 168), the permissible annual exposure to ionizing radiation is:
-
Workers: 20 mSv/year
-
General population: 1 mSv/year
Note:
-
Based on the measured and calculated doses, it is confirmed that in the past 12 months the activity of the unit has had no negative impact on human health or the environment.
-
The Dental X-ray Rooms do not release radioactive substances into the environment.
