Missing teeth

Braki w uzębieniu Katowice

Missing Teeth – We provide our Patients with comprehensive treatments that allow for aesthetic tooth reconstruction and the elimination of missing teeth, ensuring that the final result restores a beautiful, natural-looking smile. We offer a wide range of solutions for replacing missing teeth — including the reconstruction of broken, chipped, worn or unaesthetic front and posterior teeth.

Thanks to the fillings and restorations we use, we can guarantee even, natural-looking teeth after reconstruction. Gaps or missing teeth will no longer be a cause of an unattractive smile.

In our clinic, we ensure that each Patient receives the most effective method of aesthetic tooth restoration. All the solutions we offer accurately replicate the natural colour and shape of teeth.

The aesthetic reconstructions we perform are tailored individually to each case, depending on the condition of the teeth or gums requiring treatment.

Depending on the Patient’s needs, the procedures we use enable the aesthetic rebuilding of teeth and the restoration of their natural appearance and colour. For example:

  • if the dental pulp has not been damaged — we use porcelain veneers,

  • if the fracture of the tooth crown is more extensive and reaches the pulp — we use a prosthetic crown with a post-and-core, preceded by root canal treatment,

  • if the fracture extends deep below the gum line — unfortunately, extraction is often necessary, followed by an implant or a dental bridge.

In our clinic, an individualized treatment plan guarantees a harmonious and natural aesthetic effect that perfectly reflects the natural shape and colour of the teeth once the reconstruction is completed.

Causes of missing teeth?

Missing teeth can develop for various reasons. The most common causes include:

Tooth decay – when left untreated, it leads to the destruction of the tooth and ultimately requires extraction.

Gum disease (periodontitis) – causes weakening and loosening of the teeth, eventually leading to tooth loss.

Mechanical injuries – e.g., tooth fractures resulting from accidents or sports activities.

Developmental defects – some individuals are born with congenital tooth absence (hypodontia).

Poor oral hygiene and neglected dental treatment, which accelerate the loss of teeth.

Systemic diseases (e.g., diabetes, osteoporosis) may increase the risk of tooth loss.

What are the consequences of missing teeth?

Even the loss of a single tooth can lead to several negative consequences:

Difficulty biting and chewing food – which can interfere with proper nutrition.

Shifting of the remaining teeth – leading to bite problems and overloading of neighbouring teeth.

Speech difficulties – especially when front teeth are missing.

Bone loss in the jaw at the site of the missing tooth.

Aesthetic concerns – the smile loses its natural appearance, which may affect self-confidence.

Increased risk of gum disease and tooth decay – due to challenges in maintaining proper oral hygiene.

How to quickly replace missing teeth?

The speed at which missing teeth can be replaced depends on the chosen method:

Dental bridge – in many cases, it can be completed within 1–2 weeks.

Acrylic or metal framework denture – a temporary replacement can often be prepared within a few days.

Dental implants – require more time, as the healing and osseointegration process takes several weeks to a few months.

If a patient needs a quick aesthetic result, temporary dentures or temporary bridges are often used, allowing them to enjoy an improved smile at the very beginning of treatment.

Why is it important to replace missing teeth quickly?

Missing teeth that are not replaced can lead to shifting of neighbouring teeth, bite problems, bone loss, and difficulties with chewing and speech. Over time, the aesthetics of the smile also deteriorate, and the risk of gum disease may increase. This is why it is important to start prosthetic or implant treatment as soon as possible to avoid further complications.

From a medical standpoint, delaying replacement is not advisable — bone loss can begin just a few weeks after a tooth is lost, and adjacent teeth start to move. Waiting longer (months or years) increases the risk of complications such as malocclusion, more complex implant treatment, and problems with chewing.
